Sugar puff pastry "tongues" are made from just two ingredients: puff pastry and sugar for coating. Crispy, caramelized, exactly like the ones sold in the school canteen. Highly recommended - quick and very inexpensive.

Sugar Puff Pastry Tongues
Crispy puff pastry tongues with caramelized sugar made from store-bought puff pastry - just like from the school canteen.
Ingredients
Method
- Turn on the oven. Take out the dough ahead of time and let it thaw. Cut out 5 cm rounds with a cutter, as for dumplings.

- Sprinkle sugar on the table, place a round of dough on it and roll it out lengthwise with a rolling pin, shaping it into a tongue.

- Coat the piece in sugar, stretch it out on both sides and transfer to a baking sheet.

- Bake in an oven preheated to 210-230°C for 10-12 minutes, until golden and the sugar has caramelized. Let the finished pastries cool.
Tips
- Take the dough out of the freezer ahead of time and let it thaw completely.
- It's convenient to cut the rounds with a dumpling cutter about 5 cm in diameter.
- Roll out the pieces right on top of the sugar - this presses it into the dough so it caramelizes during baking.
- Turn on the oven first thing: the tongues bake very quickly and love high heat.
