This pull-apart boat pie is made from 10 individual yeasted dough boats filled with cheese and herbs, arranged in a circle in a 24 cm pan. The dough proofs for 40 minutes, and the pie bakes for 30 minutes at 170-180 °C. I recommend it: simple, but really tasty and fun to make.

Pull-Apart Boat Pie
A pull-apart yeasted pie made from individual boats filled with cheese and herbs, in a 24 cm pan.
Ingredients
Method
- In a bowl, mix the yeast with the sugar and half of the warm water and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to activate.
- Sift in the flour, add the salt and the remaining water and knead the dough, adding the vegetable oil at the end. Let the dough rest in a warm place for 40 minutes.
- For the filling, grate the cheese finely, finely chop the herbs and mix together.
- On a floured surface, divide the dough into 10 pieces. Stretch each into a small rectangle by hand, add the filling and pinch closed on both sides to form a boat shape.
- Grease a round 24 cm pan with vegetable oil and arrange the boats from the edges toward the center, forming the pie.

- Brush the pie with egg yolk, sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake in an oven preheated to 170-180 °C for 30 minutes.
- Let the finished pie cool - the boats pull apart easily.

Notes
You can swap the filling: cottage cheese with herbs, feta or ham all work well too.
Tips
- Use any filling you like - I just went with grated cheese and fresh herbs.
- Arrange the boats from the edge of the pan toward the center so the pie holds together as one piece.
- Before baking, brush the pie with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
