Foil-baked potatoes with cheese: whole potatoes are rubbed with salt and vegetable oil, wrapped in foil and baked for about an hour at 200°C, then the flesh is mixed with a filling of hard and processed cheese, garlic, herbs and mayonnaise. One of our family's favorite dishes - I strongly recommend it. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 5 medium potatoes
  • 1 processed cheese
  • 100 g hard cheese
  • herbs to taste
  • garlic to taste
  • mayonnaise
  • vegetable oil
  • salt

Method

  1. Wash the potatoes well and pat dry, then rub with salt and vegetable oil.
  2. Wrap each potato in foil.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200°C, place the potatoes on the rack and bake for about an hour, checking doneness with a skewer.
  4. While the potatoes bake, grate the cheese, add the garlic, herbs and mayonnaise, and mix.
  5. Cut the finished potatoes in half, scoop the flesh from the skins with a spoon, mix it with the filling, and serve hot. Enjoy!

Notes

Processed cheese is easier to grate if you freeze it briefly first.

Tips

  • Check the potatoes' doneness with a skewer - it should slide in easily.
  • Prepare the filling while the potatoes bake, so everything is hot at the same time.
  • Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack - wrapped in foil, they won't make a mess.
