- Make chicken broth from the chicken breast. Remove the chicken from the broth and cut it into pieces - you'll need it at the very end.
- Add the barley groats to the boiling broth and cook for 15 minutes.
- Add the peeled, diced potatoes and carrots, season with salt, and cook for another 15 minutes.
- Once everything is cooked, add the chopped herbs, the chicken, and a little vegetable oil. Bring to a boil and turn off the heat.
