Wafer cake with boiled condensed milk comes together in 20 minutes with no baking: ready-made wafer sheets are layered with a toffee and butter cream. It's a fast, budget-friendly option for when guests are already at the door. I recommend keeping wafer sheets and boiled condensed milk on hand.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack wafer sheets 8 sheets
  • 400 g boiled condensed milk or ready-made toffee
  • 100 g butter softened
  • walnuts to taste

Method

  1. If you don't have ready-made toffee, boil the condensed milk and let it cool completely. Take the butter out of the fridge ahead of time so it softens.
  2. In a bowl, whip the butter until fluffy, then add the toffee gradually and whip until you get a smooth, fluffy cream.
  3. Spread the cream between all the wafer sheets and press them firmly together.
  4. Spread cream on top of the cake too and decorate with wafer crumbs and walnuts.

Notes

The cake just needs a couple of hours in the fridge for the sheets to soften slightly, but it can also be served right away.

Tips

  • Take the butter out ahead of time - it needs to be soft, at room temperature.
  • If you don't have ready-made toffee, boil the condensed milk and let it cool completely.
  • Decorate the top of the cake with wafer crumbs and chopped walnuts.
