Delicious homemade cherry vareniki (dumplings) - we make them together as a family and enjoy them all together. Simple unleavened dough, a juicy filling with a hint of tartness, and just 5-6 minutes of cooking. I highly recommend serving them with sour cream!

Cherry Vareniki
Homemade vareniki (dumplings) with a cherry and sugar filling on a springy unleavened dough. Tart and sweet - especially delicious with sour cream.
Ingredients
Method
- Mix all the dough ingredients together and knead into a springy, firm dough. Let it rest for about 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, mix the cherries with the sugar and set aside so they release their juice for the sauce.
- Roll out the dough very thin and cut out circles with a glass.
- Place the berries in the center of each circle and pinch the vareniki closed.
- Cook the vareniki in boiling salted water for 5-6 minutes, no longer. Serve with sour cream and the cherry juice sauce. Enjoy!

Notes
The shaped vareniki can be frozen ahead of time and cooked straight from the freezer whenever you need them.
